Kate Gogarty’s start into becoming a musician was a very natural one. While growing up with her father rehearsing in their family home it was inevitable that one day Kate would pick up a guitar and take the first step. Kate’s first touch of a guitar came at the age of 8 and she has not put it down since. Kate is starting to gain ground as a newcomer on the Australian music scene gracing the stages of The Vanguard and many other venues across Sydney.
In 2008 Producer Sean Carey, who discovered Kate via her myspace. Invited Kate to record her original tracks in his studio. With Kate’s beautiful voice and guitar skills Sean had no trouble recording her debut EP, which is due for release this year.
Kate Gogarty has earned her stripes on the Australian music scene with refreshing songs and what you hear is what you get attitude.
