PHRASE is back with a brand new album that is already turning heads and impacting the Australian music industry. To create his new sound, Phrase has enlisted the help of producer Jan Skubiszewski (of Aria nominated Jackson Jackson fame). With the help of Jan, PHRASE wrote and recorded over 3 albums worth of material in order to develop the sound and direction of CLOCKWORK. This album reflects PHRASEs progression from the youthful aggression expressed on his critically acclaimed debut album Talk With Force and shows a maturity and social awareness not often seen in a man of his age. Opting to steer clear of the standard lets get every rapper I know to feature on my album concept, PHRASE has gone outside the box and reached out to both old and new icons of the Australian music industry. Collaborations on CLOCKWORK include Kram (Spiderbait) Wendy Matthews, Daniel Merriweather, Bliss N Eso, Harry Angus (Cat Empire / Jackson Jackson), Illy, Max White and numerous session musicians from Melbourne’s live music scene.

With first-of-its-kind collaborations like these, PHRASE hopes CLOCKWORK will play a part in bridging the gap between “Aussie Hip-Hop” and other genres in the Australian music industry.
