Since forming in 2006, bluesy rock trio Chase The Sun have gone hard and got a lot done in a short time, spending no time amassing widespread critical acclaim for their soul-tinged song writing, blues sensibilities and the powerhouse live delivery of guitar star on the rise Jan Rynsaardt. Combining elements of old-school acoustic blues, Stevie Ray Vaughan boogie, hillbilly finger picking and Hendrix flash; three-piece Chase The Sun crank out a new take on a classic sound.
Jan (rhymes with Yarn) Rynsaardt, whose indisputable talent has earned him a reputation among the Australian blues fraternity, has been strumming strings since the age of 7 and was into the heavy guitar sounds of AC/DC and Metallica since the first grade.
I was playing all sorts of stuff through school but when I heard Joe Satriani, that’s when I knew I wanted to be a guitar player” recalls Rynsaardt of his 20-year focus. Satriani lead to Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan who took Rynsaardt back to the blues. “Stevie Ray pushed me in an early direction: back to the blues masters like BB King, Muddy Waters and Johnny Winter”.
Seattle Sound are a NSW Covers Band who formed in 1996 after realising that they could deliver the music influenced by the grunge explosion of the 90s coming out of Seattle.Unlike the many other Cover Bands that were around at the same time, Seattle Sound are the only surviving show from that period. They have proven themselves by their repeatedly breaking Attendance and Bartaking records, which they STILL, 7 years on, continue to do at venues like Castle Hill Tavern, G.Ws - Penrith, not forgetting the smashing of their OWN record at The Collector Tavern- Parramatta and The Fitzroy Hotel at Windsor

Turnpage are a three piece rock band from Sydney. Their music boasts the versatility of Goliath-like riffs and moody ballads. Mix that in with a unique melody and songwriting style and Turnpage are a band truly of their own. The band has been building a steady fan base since 2006, and has recently released their debut EP, The Riverbed Cinematic. The guys are ready to set a platform by which they will take the Indie music scene by storm this year. The group found its origins from the ashes of a previous band which Jimmy (Lead Vocals, Guitar), and Allan (Backing Vocals, Bass) were in. Having met Andre (Drums) through a mutual friend, they wasted no time in getting to work. The chemistry was immediate, and i think we all feel we are part of something special that we are prepared to take all the way, explains Jimmy. Since forming, the band has been perpetually increasing in pace, having already played over 30 different venues across Sydney including Excelsior Surry Hills, Bar Broadway, and the Hopetoun. They have also had the honour of playing support for Grant Walmsely of The Screaming Jets at the Fitzroy Hotel, a venue which they are now the resident band in. This band has some of the most dedicated musicians i have worked with recently, says Russell of Damien Gerard Studios, who recorded the bands EP. They have a maturity of songwriting and work ethic that extends beyond their years, I had a lot of fun working with these guys. With a debut EP under their belts, there is no telling just how much this young band will achieve with their vibrant brand of rock. Watch this space!
Imperial is a five piece band that have held the local pub scene hostage over the past two years. The band has been concocting a smooth cocktail of music with an after taste that wont let you forget. The blend of rockin funkalicious indie sounds mixed in with the Latin flavours of the bongos and a blues harp, remind you of every style that makes you dance.
“Imperial sound like they have put Pearl Jam and Incubus in a blender and liquefied it, they sound like a young band on the verge of something new and exciting Drum media.
mperial started off in lead singer Matt Musumecis garage after he showed them an idea for the first song, which still to this date is yet to be completed. But with Sam Scopelliti on rhythm guitar and the duo of Frankie Iorfino and Jose Carrasco on bass and drums the band was almost fully formed.
