Stormcellar blues festival
Stormcellar are certainly a breath of fresh air on the Australian blues scene. Recently touted in the music press as one of Sydney’s new premier blues outfits, and a band to look out for, they have made considerable strides
After releasing their first album Whiskey Talkin only a year and half ago and doing over a 100 shows they have carved their own niche in the music scene. We like to think we have our own brand of R&B: thats Roots and Boogie, and we take our audience on a trip through the genres of the blues via Tokyo to Mali and Mississippi to Hawaii. Our aim is give up a couple of classy yet powerful sets for people to dance and listen to.

Collard Greens and Gravy blues festival
Formed in Melbourne in 1995, Collard Greens and Gravy quickly established themselves as one of the countrys leading blues acts with their unique style of stripped down swamp blues.
Performing a mix of original material and covers by Mississippi blues artists such as R.L Burnside, T Model Ford and Fred McDowell, the band have created a sound which saw them win the 2001 ARIA award for best blues and roots CD.
In February 2001 Collard Greens and Gravy, competing against more than 50 bands from around the world were awarded runners up in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee. To qualify for entry the band representing Australia won the local Blues Performer of the year competition held by the Melbourne Blues Society.
Since then the band have returned twice to tour the US, playing festivals and bars from New Orleans to New York.
John and Rick Brewster are founding members and major songwriters of the legendary Angels, one of Australias most successful rock bands who smash attendance records wherever they play. They have produced the bands classic multi-platinum albums and The Angels remain one of Australias most loved and respected bands.
In 1998 The Angels were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame. In 2008 the renowned songwriting team Brewster/Neeson/Brewster was inducted into the Australian Songwriter Association Hall of Fame.
A few years ago Rick and John started a new break-away project performing acoustically as The Brewster Brothers creating an elusive new musical style that reflects their many influences going right back to Ricks early classical piano training and Johns teenage years as a folk and acoustic performer.Expanding now to The Brewster Brothers Trio with the addition of multi-instrumentalistPaul Robert Burton, the Brewster Brothers are redefining the limitations of contemporary live musical performance. In the last three years they have recorded three CDs four video clips, played over 250 live ticket shows, over 20 national festivals, two overseas appearances and with the international release of their new studio album Wounded Healer have their eyes set on Europe.
Most artists would want to write their bios like someone else has written it for them, thus avoiding the screams of blatant self-promoter by not writing directly about ones self, and ones claims to err fames had to make it rhyme and I ve done that on the more comprehensive bio sections of some other sites I m on, but I also decided that Id write this one a bit more direct, as its also the way I perform when I m on my own.
While I do have a long history as a musician 40 yrs its nearly always been on the electric guitar and so my songs were always written in a band capacity, as..well, I always played in bands!
That was until I moved up to Byron Bay from Sydney in 95. I d started work in the area playing, and I had a little day gig at the local music store. At this stage, I didnt even own an acoustic guitar, and I’d only ever had one as a practice instrument
