January 18th, 2009 - Drew McAlister

Born in Narrabri and raised in Moree in country New South Wales, Drew McAlister grew up listening to Bryan Adams, Noiseworks and Slim Dusty and started singing at age 7. One of four children, after finishing school at the age of 18, Drew decided to take his music ability seriously and left the country for the dazzling lights of Sydney. He immediately picked up session work for major brand television and radio jingles. During the next few of years, Drew continued to write his songs, performed in many different bands and appeared on “The Midday Show” and “Hey Hey It’s Saturday” numerous times. January 31st, 2009 - Chasing Bailey

Speak to any band about their first-ever show and you’ll hear tales of grimy clubs, poor sound and, if they’re lucky, a rent-a-crowd drunk enough to forgive every nervous mistake. For Chasing Bailey, a debut gig like that would have been a dream. Instead they arrived at a miniature horse show in Tamworth – that’s right, a show for tiny horses – set up their gear in a hospitality tent and stared out at a sea of empty chairs, wondering excitedly about how many of them would be occupied come show time. The answer? None. And so Chasing Bailey simply did what would soon become second nature – they got onstage and played their music as if the tent was packed to capacity.

February 1st, 2009 - The Cover ups

What began as an invitation to “come sit in for a few songs,” has grown into a literal marriage of individual musical styles – Classic Rock with a splash of Country and R&B. On June 6, 1997, founding member, Kevin Crum, invited Tammi Smith to join him in a few songs on stage during a solo gig. The experience sealed their fates, and from that moment Kevin realized that his dream of marrying either a singer or a chiropractor could indeed come true. The Cover-Ups were born, and the beat goes on!

February 8th, 2009 - Marty Simpson

Marty Simpson engaged fans and judges alike when he debuted himself to the nation on the top-rating TV show, “Australian Idol.” But Marty’s feet were already itching and toes tapping. The moment his time on the show came to an end (Marty was in the final four), he immersed himself in what he loves - and does - best: making and playing music. In the past 12 months, Marty has fulfilled a dream – touring up and down the East Coast performing at over 40 venues to his rapidly growing fan base. Through social networking sites, Marty’s increasing number of fans have been able to track where he’ll be and what he’s been up to – which is a great deal! In between touring, Marty has managed to perform at the hugely popular Rip Curl Pro surf festival at iconic Bells Beach and tap into his core fan base again at the Surfing Life Peer Poll Awards. He’s also been busy writing and creating music – and is looking to release an album in the upcoming months, accompanied by a tour later this year. Marty’s songs are an insight into his incredibly genuine personality. They are engaging, honest and superbly crafted. Having already worked with some of Australia’s finest musicians, Marty recently wrote a song with James Reyne (Australian Crawl).

March 28th, 2009 - The Radiators

Prior to 1978 Brian Nichol was bass guitar/lead vocals and Fess Parker was lead guitar in “Big Swifty”. At the same time Geoff Turner was bass guitarist with RCA signed “Twister”. After the two bands performed together a couple of times “Twister” disbanded and “Big Swifty” decided on a change of musical direction. Times were changing and major advances had been made in the music industry so the two bands and their music styles merged and drummer Chris Tagg was added to the mix . Brendan Callinan brought keyboards to The Radiators in 1979 and the individual members of the Band began their prolific song writing careers. By the time Chris Tagg left the Band in 1984 three albums had been released and The Radiators had been awarded Gold Records for “Scream of the Real” and “Up For Grabs”. A little further down the track their Albums “Feel the Heat” and “You Have the Right to Remain Silent” scored double Platinum. The Radiators was now an incorporated Company. When 1990 rolled around Mick Buckley moved on, had overseas success and keyboardist Brendan departed. Drummer extraordinaire Mark Lucas signed up and it was decided thereafter to forego keyboards. That was the line-up of the mighty Radiators in 1990 and so it remains to this day!
